New Bloggers at the Canadian Trademark Blog

My friends over at the Canadian Trademark Blog have announced two new members to their blogging team. Joining the original group of Neil Melliship, Larry Munn and Karen Monteith will be Niamh Pollak and Jeffrey Vicq.

Jeff is new to the firm's Technology & IP group arriving post my departure. And while I've never met Jeff, I will note he's got some street cred among the law librarians -- a colleague at another local firm referred to him as a real "rising star & great guy". It's a pretty good sign when the librarians are singing your praises. :-)

Niamh Pollak, on the other hand, articled during my tenure and I know will be a great addition to the blog's authorship. Niamh's interests in video game law and web-based IP issues should expand the coverage, and make for very interesting reading.

Best of luck Niamh and Jeff. I'm looking forward to it!

Nina Platt's New Blog - Law Firm Intranets

Nina Platt has just launched a new blog dedicated to law firm Intranets. Many readers of the VLLB will be interested in this new blog, and the content looks simply fantastic.

While other blogs in this space are very strong on the technical side, Nina's commentary will speak to two elements of Intranet development that I find essential - stakeholder strategy & content analysis. When it comes to change management and getting buy-in, both are critical factors for success, in my books anyway... And if you're currently reading her Strategic Librarian blog, you know her writing style tends toward being practical and useful. I think we can expect more of the same here.

And for those closely tracking legal portals and Intranets, if you aren't already, I would also highly recommend watching the blogs of Ron Friedmann, Tom Baldwin and Doug Cornelius. Done properly, Portals and KM really do go together. All of the above writers get that.

New Website for the Canadian Law Blogs List

I'm happy to announce the Canadian Law Blogs List now has a home of its own. The dust cover is off, and the list will carry forward at LawBlogs.ca!

Moving the list to a new domain was in my Stem startup plan for back in September. Things have been very busy (in a good way) so I'll forgive myself for not doing it sooner. This is also part of a larger goal of mine (LegalPubs.ca being another example) to be involved in Canadian legal web publishing, and to keep working my Librarian's spin and watch for opportunities to create quality content collections.

I started the list back in September 2005, and it has been generously noted by many bloggers and website owners. I will be modifying the original post with 'Moved' sign (and link), but any help in redirecting prior linkage would be greatly appreciated.

And finally... If your blog (or someone you know) isn't on the list, what are you waiting for? Send me your blog!
