2007 Holiday Gift Guide for Lawyers

Reid Trautz has published his 2007 gift guide for lawyers. From the 'Mega Caffeine Candy Sampler' to the 'wire-free charging system for handheld portable electronics'... a very enjoyable & funny post. If you have some time, click on over.

[Hat tip to Dave Bilinsky]

Update 11/23: Bonnie Shucha over at Wisblawg has followed up with a comparable Librarian's guide. I might just need one of those hollowed out books! very cool.

LegalPubs - A Great First Week & New Features

I dropped a short note on Slaw about my first week success with LegalPubs -- over 3500 product views, with 1800 of those linking into the product pages on the publisher's websites -- in 1 week! I'm not sure we could have had a better demonstration on the value of RSS technology, and how it can extend the reach of online content.

I'm also happy to announce a couple new features: email alerts and a mobile version of the site. For those who aren't plugged into an RSS reader, the alerts are a great opportunity to be notified when the new Canadian legal products are released.

I also have high hopes for the mobile offering... if not now, then very soon. Garry Price convinced me last year that mobile is going to play a big role in the future. And for those engaged in legal collection development, this is the type of tool that could make things easier.

Et Seq - Harvard Law School Library Blog

Started on September 17th, Harvard Law School Library has launched a new blog. From their about page:
"Et Seq. communicates library and legal resource information to Harvard Law School faculty, students and staff.

Visit Et Seq. for library announcements and the latest on cool new technologies, new books, journals and e-resources, new resources from foreign jurisdictions, interesting current events, hot documents, and more."
The tone is very informal, and they even have some Cancon! A big VLLB welcome to the legal bibliogosphere Et Seq. You're off to a great start!
